Vintage Hardback Cloth Cover Book with Dust Jacket and Author Letter is in Very Good or better condition with a tight binding and clean crisp pages. Dust Jacket is nice with some minor soiling primarily to the back cover and some minor edge chipping primarily at the top and bottom of the outside spine with some small missing pieces. Some creasing to the DJ front cover. Dust Jacket is covered by a new clear mylar cover. This book also includes the Author Letter that was addressed to "Dear Young Reader" and was provided to members of the "Young Readers of America" club. This letter has been stapled with two staples at the top of the first end page. Letter shows some minor creasing to the bottom edge and top left hand corner. Landmark Books and World Landmark Books are accurate, in-depth stories for young people in the 9-15 year old range. These living histories were written by award-winning authors or by men and women who experienced the events first hand. Written during the 1950's and 1960's and illustrated either with two-color drawings or clear photographs, the books are informative, enjoyable, and well worth reading and collecting. For centuries the Barbary Pirates had plagued the world. Long before any settler had set foot in the New World they had begun their raids on merchant vessels. This is the story of the Barbary Pirates! This is not an ex-library book, but has come from a private collection. Great story by a great author!
