New York, McGraw-Hill Book Company, 1952, hardcover, 274 pp, First Edition, First Printing, Very Good in Fair dustjacket, Signed and inscribed by the Author on the front endpaper "July 3rd '56 For Theodor Schafer with all best wishes Sincerely Guido D'agostino". Straight, tight and clean with no markings, tiny scuffs to front board. Dustjacket unclipped bearing original price, edge nicks, tears and chips to flap and spine folds, displays nicely in new Brodart sleeve. The fourth book from the author of Olives on the Apple Tree, Hills Beyond Manhattan, and My Enemy The World. Much of the background for The Barking of a Lonely Fox comes from the author's own experience as a part-time Pennsylvania farmer.
