About This Item

New York, NY: Henry Holt and Company, 1944. 328pp. Original blue cloth with red lettering. Copyright page states "Copyright, 1943, 1944, by field Publications." Fully illustrated with black and white cartoons by the author. Pages are clean (no writing, underlining, or highlighting) but yellowed with age. Binding is slightly cracked (and text block is pulling away from boards) but pages are still secure/attached. Covers are scuffed/slighlty ink-rubbed/lightly sunned/lightly finger soiled. Shelfwear (bumping/denting to head/heel of spine and rubbing to extremities). This is not a remainder or ex-library. No previous owner markings. With Mr. O'Malley's help, Barnaby's Victory Garden doesn't exactly flourish. They do, however, manage to foil an OPA hold-up and they meet a circus lion, Atlas (the "mental giant"), and Gorgon's father. The latter portion of the book chronicles Mr. O'Malley's run for congress, offering sly satire on electoral politics. Nice reading copy of this collectible book. . First Thus, Collectible. Hard Cover. Good -/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
