The book is richly illustrated and covers the transition from early log barns to the large, truss-framed "Wells barns" with their cathedral-like interiors. Inscribed by author to previous owner on title page, with recipient's name marked out in ink. Heavy quarto. xvii, 527 pp. Brick red cloth. From private collection. Dust jacket shows a little rubbing from shelf wear.
