Jersey: Huelin et le Feuvre, 1881. The Battle of Jersey 6 January 1781 was an attempt by French Royalist forces to invade Jersey and remove the threat the island posed to French and American shipping in the American War of Independence. Text in French with advertising in English. CONDITION Green cloth with bright gilt title and black decorative border to front (some stains and mild wear to cloth at spine ends and tips) pp x 125 with 8 engraved illus and a plan of St Helier, 3 pages of advertising, list of names (local combatants?) name to front free end page. Mostly clean with odd fox spot, gutter split to paper at front hinge, mull intact. Overall a nice copy.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Good/N/A. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
