Very Good/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. 2nd, revised edition. 118pp, , maps on endpapers, colour plate frontispiece and numerous further black and white plate illustrations throughout. In red cloth-covered boards with gilt titles on spine (slightly faded). Top edge sprayed red. A little spotting on text block edges and first and last few pages, else neat, clean and tight. In its original, pictorial dust jacket (slightly spotted on inner flaps). Dust jacket now protected in a Mylar wrapper, fitted without the use of tape or adhesives. "Of all the villages that London has preserved within its extending borders, Chelsea is perhaps the most remarkable for its strong local traditions and associations which have transcended its modern context"; so writes William Gaunt in the opening of his description and history of Chelsea.
