A first printing of the English-language edition of an examination of the Bauhaus school of art and arts & crafts. The institution was founded in 1919 by Walter Gropius in Weimar, Germany. It only existed for 14 years, but its impact on world-wide arts has continued well into the 21st century. This hefty work with hundreds of color and black & white photos and drawings. --- In black cloth-covered boards with silver-stamped cover and spine titling. Red dust jacket with three-dimensional circle, square and triangle images to cover. --- With a small scuffed spot to fore-edge of front cover, faint soiling to textblock lower edge, otherwise a bright, tightly-bound, newish copy. Dust jacket with couple of small tears at flap creases and minor creasing to edges, else bright and intact.
