About This Item

New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1974. Thick octavo (24 x 16 cm.), 316, xvii, [4] pages. Illustrated. Index. FIRST EDITION. A collection of syndicated newspaper columns from the "Dean of American Cooking", James Beard. Included are approximately two hundred recipes, but this is really a work for reading, to be dipped into for the short essays and personal recollections. Fine in publisher's yellow, paper-covered boards, backed in green cloth. In a near fine dust jacket, with only the slightest of edgewear. REVIEW COPY with the review slip laid-in.
