Hardcovers have light orange cloth-covered boards with red spine and cover lettering. Spines have Art Nouveau-style floral design in brown and red. Front covers each have a plain brown border. Top edges gilt. Deckle fore edges. Black and white frontispieces with tissue guards. Black and white plates. Bindings tight. Hinges NOT cracked. Corners and spine ends mildly rubbed, with minor fraying at tips. Pages lightly and uniformly tanned but still supple. Pages clean and unmarked. Some page still uncut (unopened). Volume 2 has a two-inch light moisture stain at the bottom spine corner. Stain is visible inside on just the first few pages, and on the last twenty or so pages, in bottom corner at gutter. 369 + 358 pages. No dust jackets. Carefully packed, shipped in a box.
