About This Item
New York: Atlantic Monthly Press, 1987. Book. Illus. by A 2 Page Map of China. Fine. Cloth. Stated First Printing. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Thubron is a great travel writer, and this is a long trek through China before it became so relatively easy , and so many joined the China travel horde. Pages 307 with index. As always with Thubron, a fun and rewarding read, this time to help recall what China was 25 years ago. Very clean and tight, no prior owner marks. Appears to be an unread copy. .
Synopsis
Colin Thubron’s most recent travel book is To the Last City . Behind the Wall won the Hawthornden Prize and the Thomas Cook Travel Book Award.
