About This Item
New York, New York, U.S.A.: E. P. Dutton & Co., Inc, 1924. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Good. This is a biography of Frances Teresa Stuart, a cousin and mistress of King Charles II, as well as a description of Court life after the Restoration. The spine of this edition says it is the American first edition, though it is listed as being printed in England after the title page. Twelve illustration plates and an index enhance the text. There is no dust jacket. The book has dark blue boards with gilt for the title and a medallion on the front cover that echoes one of the interior pictures. The spine is worn, but can be read. There is a 1-cm. tear at the top center of the spine. An ex libris sticker is located inside the front cover. The book has never been read, as proven by un-cut pages throughout. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall.
