BX6 - A first edition advance reading copy (ARC)/uncorrected proof book in very good+ condition with no dust jacket as issued (trade paperback). An unread, tight, clean, sound copy in color illustrated white wraps with only very, very minor shelf wear with some very, very light surface chipping at the extreme left corners of the front cover plus there is a very, very light crease on the back cover at the extreme bottom left corner. A novel about an ex-prisoner who served time for illegal gambling. He returns to his home town of Saratoga Springs to find his old haunts replaced with Wal-Marts and designer coffee shops. His three daughters defy him and his parole officer and neighbors try to threaten him into behaving himself. Soon he falls back into old habits and, finally hitting rock bottom, is forced to confront the mess he has made of his life and especially the death of his fourth daughter in a car accident years earlier.
