Third edition in two volumes [John Murray, London, 1822]; missing folio of plates [as usual]; xxxv, fold-out map of "The Course Of The Nile" + duplicated leaves [xxv], xxvi + fold-out map of desert showing Belzoni's "Route To The Oasis Of Ammon"; 438pp; x, 421pp, inc fold-out "Plan Of The Temple Of Jerusalem". Full calf bindings; front board of vol II detached; gilt decorations; marbled endpapers; edges marbled but largely faded; pasted title labels missing from spine?; faded gilt decorations; four raised bands; top of spines chipped with loss; base rear hinge of vol I starting [2cm split]; Bookplate of W[illiam] P[itt] Trevelyan to both vols plus his ownership signature. A very good set of this scarce & important work.
