Original price of $3.50 still present). First printing. 'A four-generation novel of the South' by this African American writer, set in Louisiana between 1842 and 1920. 346 pp. The dust jacket flap notes that more than 12 million copies of Yerby's books have been sold and he was apparently feeling comfortable enough to have a full page photograph on the back cover of the dj.
