About This Item

Berkeley: Berkeley Barb, 1967. Newspaper. 16p., folded tabloid, illus., light even toning, wraps edgeworn with several small closed tears along fold, else very good condition. Typical vintage issue of Berkeley's long-running underground paper. Stories on the upcoming anti-war Spring Mobilization, a visit by Swami A.C. Bhaktivedanta to a local Krishna temple, a spontaneous six-hour takeover of Telegraph Ave. by 1500 "hips", and reportage on a bust of two people in Dallas for smoking banana peels. Also reviews of both a MacBird production and The Beard (play by Michael McClure), coincidentally with sizable ads in the same issue.
