About This Item

Englewood Cliffs, NJ: Prentice-hall, 1975. First edition. Hardcover. Fine/near fine. First edition, first printing. Fine in bright, crisp, price clipped dust jacket with a couple very minor faults. Hardcover. 272 pp. Illustrated with photographs. Biography of hockey Hall of Fame goaltender Bernie Parent. A native of the Montreal suburbs, his boyhood hero was Canadiens goalie Jacques Plante. Parent began his NHL career with the Boston Bruins in 1965-66 but when the league expanded in 1967, he was claimed by the new Philadelphia Flyers franchise. He would be with the Flyers from 1967 to 1971 and was traded to the Totonto Maple Leafs where Plante was still active. After a year in the WHA, he returned to the Flyers for their "Broad Street Bullies" glory years. Parent was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1984.
