[14] engraved plates, most double page and one folding which is signed Georg David Heumann ad vivum del. et sculpsit. Decorative head and tailpieces, initials. 19th century quarter vellum binding with some wear on the corners and spine ends. Occasional slight dusting and fingering. Light spotting on title page. Armorial bookplate of Baron de Marbot (Jean Baptiste Antoine Marcellin Marbot August 18, 1782 – November 16, 1854) the distinguished Napoleonic general whose memoirs published in 1891 recall his service in Russia, Spain and at Waterloo. The attractive plates are mostly in the strip format of a panorama. They depict the procession of musketeers, halberdiers, musicians, artillery-pieces and munitions-wagons, a view of the fortifications and encampment, a plan of the shooting ground, together with illustrations of medals awarded and a diagram of the hits of the various competing teams on a target diagram. A crisp, clean copy.
