New York: Dodd, Mead and Company, 1940. Very good. xi, 534p, illustrations, frontispiece, 21 cm tall (octavo). Cloth covered boards, gilt title on spine. Ownership signature of Dalton Trumbo on free endpaper. Dalton Trumbo was a screenwriter and novelist who refused to give information to the House Un-American Activities Committee in 1947. Subsequently he was jailed and blacklisted. He wrote the screenplay for "Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo," "Spartacus," "Exodus," and many others. Gilt title on spine is somewhat dulled.
