Dillion, LL.D. 329 pages plus six maps - two color and four black and white. More than 67 black and white engravings throughout text, including many full page engravings. At the bottom of each page, in footnote style, are questions about the text, for example: "What new covenat did God make with Abram? What was Abram now called? After He had been condemned by the Council, how was our Lord treated? What famous creed was drawn up at the Council of Nicaea? There is also a Pronunciation Guide. Nihil Obstat: Regimus Lafort, DD Imprimatur: John Cardinal Farley, Archbishop of New York Preface by J.L. Spalding, Bishop of Peoria Co-author Rev. Dillon was the Superintendent of Parish Schools in Neward, New Jersey. Contents are divided into Old and New Testaments. The Old Testament is divided into five eras, starting with the First Era and the Creation of the World and continuing through the Fifth Era and the Atrocities of Antiochus and the Roman Invasion of Judea. The New Testament section captioned Life of Our Lord Jesus Christ, begins with the birth of Christ in Part First, concluding with the Ascention in Part Third. This is followed by the History of the Church section covering The Church in Ancient Times and concluding with the French Revolution to 1916, when this volume was published. Bumped and worn corners. Fray to top and bottom of spine. Cracked front hinge exposes webbing, but boards firmly attached. Light tanning to inside covers and pages. Some bumped bottom corners of page.
