Separate sections deal with the literature of such subjects as: superstition in general, wonderful things in nature, the devil, hell, angels, were-wolfs, vampires, fairies, magic-books, trials for witchcraft, amulets, talismans, somnambulism, magnetism, sorceries, demoniac possession, apparition of spirits, dreams, fortune-telling, visions, natural magic. This bibliography also contains the catalogues of two libraries specialized in these fields, namely those of Hauber and of Horst. Caillet described Grasse's work as a "systematic bibliography of the principal works on superstition, especially in ancient times . . . An excellent bibliography mentioning numerous works that are almost unknown" ((Manuel bibliographique des sciences psychiques et occultes, no. 4695).
