First hardcover edition, later (probably second) printing. 1958 Hugo Award Winner for Best Novel! This novel was first published in two parts in Galaxy Magazine's March and April 1958 issues and issued as a paperback by Ace Books in 1961. A locked room mystery involving a war fought across time. All Gregg Press titles were printed on acid-free paper, sewn and bound in library-grade cloth bindings stamped with a color panel and gold lettering, and issued without dust jackets. Most of their print runs were under 500 copies, with no title ever selling more than 1,250 copies.
Synopsis
The Big Time (1957) is a short science fiction novel by Fritz Leiber. It won the Hugo Award in 1958. The Big Time is a vast, cosmic back story, hidden behind a claustrophobic front story with only a few characters. The storyline involves two factions which both have time travel who are at war with each other. Their method of battle involves changing the outcome of events throughout history. The two sides are nicknamed the Spiders and the Snakes.
