New York: Random House (1955), 1955. First edition. Hardcover. Very near Fine/Near Fine. 8vo. [20], 11-198, [16] pp. Green cloth with gold lettering and black decorations. Price of $3.95 on front flap of jacket. Illustrated by several in-text drawings. Decorations by Edward Shenton. Ahearn APG 045a. A very attractive copy. Very near Fine book with a bookplate on the front pastedown in a sharp Near Fine dust jacket with a few hints of wear to the extremities.
Synopsis
William Faulkner was born in New Albany, Mississippi, on September 25, 1897. Faulkner had begun writing poems when he was a schoolboy and published a poetry collection in 1924 at his own expense. In 1950, Faulkner traveled to Sweden to accept the 1949 Nobel Prize for Literature. He died of a heart attack on July 6, 1962.
