HARDCOVER, uniformly bound in the original publisher's full red cloth, gilt lettering, with good dust-jackets. Books are in fine condition. Excellent set. ~ FIRST EDITION. Provenance: from the bequest of Frédéric Louis Bastet (1926-2008), with his elegant bookplate to each volume. Renowned Dutch archaeologist, Bastet was a professor of classical archaeology at the University of Leiden (1966-1976), curator of the classical department of the Rijksmuseum van Oudheden (State Museum of Antiquities), art historian, and writer. In 2005 he was awarded the prestigious P. C. Hooft Award for Literature. 006-8
