Atlanta, Georgia: Jas. P. Harrison & Co., 1884. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Good. 8vo. Moser. pp. v, 405, one page ad. Illustrated. Book protected in new mylar. Binding is somewhat worn with corners frayed. Interior hinges cracked, but holding. Previous owner's name on front free end paper. Interior of book has minor soiling, but is mostly clean. Overall a worn copy, but still square and solid. During Smith's lifetime he was the South's most widely read newspaper columnist. Mark Twain considered Smith to be "one of the few real American humorists". Humor, beliefs, and thoughts from an earlier America. A rare first edition.
