New Zealand: Penguin Random House, 2017 240pp with contributions from 62 writers. Illustrated in monotone from the originals by Lily Daff. Lily was born in the UK in 1885. After arriving in New Zealand, she worked largely as a natural history illustrator. The illustrations in this book were originally commissioned by the Royal Forest and Bird Protection Society of New Zealand in two series from 1927 and 1931 to raise awareness of the plight of endangered native birds.
