Paperbacks usually follow on from the HB edn,but can be published at the same time as the HB edn,but p/back originals are published prior to any other format in the country of origin, and sometimes, even worldwide.] FINE-. No owner inscrptn and no printed price to cover.Bright, crisp, clean but with faint, mild grubbing, pale blue cloth-covered paper covers with a bird's colour photographic illustrated front with black lettering to front+spine/backstrip,rear cover plain and undecorated; with negligible shelf-wear,bumping,creasing to edges and corners – no nicks, tears or splits present.Top+fore-edges inevitably but lightly aged/ toned, still bright and clean without further blemish,no reading creases to spine.backstrip; contents bright, tight, clean, solid and sound – no dog-ear reading creases to any pages' corners – near pristine, unread, apart from my own collation.UK,12m p/back Original,1st edn,2-144pp [paginated] includes authors' introduction,a mixture of colour photographs and b/w+colour illustrations of more than 130 individual birds with accompanying text,an appendix of unmentioned birds (12) rarely observed with their recorded dates but remain unconfirmed,an index of English names and at the rear,9pp blanks notes pages, all unused.
The Batinah is a fertile strip of date palms and vegetable gardens varying in width from one to three miles and running parallel with the coast from near Muscat to the border of the UAE.It is on a migratory route and as such receives limited numbers of birds in transit. Viisually the exterior appearance is acceptable for a book of it's age and nature,i.e. a s/back field guide, and even internally, the book is also in an exceptional condition/state of preservation and presentation. It is only the minor faults described that prevent a higher grading. Please contact seller, for correct shipping/P+p quotes - particularly ALL overseas customers - BEFORE ordering through the order page! ** N.B. ALL buyers please note, stocks' actual shipping/P+p costs are adjusted and any difference is refunded, after order's receipt and before the order's despatch, especially if the item(s) are offered either P+p included/FREE. ** N.B. US/Canada customers please be aware: Standard AIRMAIL postage from UK to these destinations can now cost more than the price of the book! If speed is not of the essence, then Economy rate is recommended - at approx. anything from a 1/3rd to 1/2 of the standard AIR quote/rate - sometimes arriving sooner than the 42 days - but not always.
