Dickey, Wright M. Pierce, Wm. L. Finley and the author; together with 44 drawings in the text and a series of 48 full-page color plates chiefly by Major Allan Brooks. Embossed green & tan covers & spine; deckled page edges; TEG. Minor wear to extremities else a fine set. This is a heavy set and may require additional shipping. William Leon Dawson (1873-1928) was a celebrated ornithologist and oölogist (collector of bird eggs); his "Birds of California" is among the most definitive works relating to the birds of a specific state. His earlier publications about birds include The Birds of Ohio and The Birds of Washington.
