About This Item
M. A. Donohue Book. Very Good. Hardcover. Decorated American trade binding (signed binding - monogram DD - Decorative Designers). Small hardcover book designed to record the birthday dates of friends and family, interspersed with quotes and poems from Alfred Lord Tennyson, and with illustrations. Size approx. 4-1/2" x 6". Clean blue cloth boards with white wings and gold hourglass on cover, white criss cross double line border, white lettering. Gold lettering on spine. Small spots of wear at corner tips and spine ends. Slight narrow vertical pucker to front board cloth. Binding is tight, hinges are sound Frontispiece portrait of Tennyson with clean tissue guard. Gilt upper page edges. Many birthdays filled in and dated early to mid 1800's to early 1900's in pencil or pen. Presumed first edition, no printed date of publication, but small name and Feb 27, 1906 at top of front free endpaper. A scarce and charming little book..
