Crisp, clean pages except for a small crease and printer's miscut through the bottom corners of 285-292 (affecting margin only); the full cloth hard cover shows only a small bump and bend at the bottom right front corner and softening at spine ends, the dust jacket some crimping around spine ends and corners, thin creases along the head edges, a small, closed tear at the bottom left front, and mild sunning along the spine, otherwise sound. ix, 474pp. incl. index.
