A tight, clean copy, with minor offsetting to the front and rear pastedown sheets adjacent to the spine hinge, and dust jacket shows light rubbing to spine ends with one small [1/2"] closed tear to top edge of front panel. The basis for the 1946 film noir starring Dan Duryea, Broderick Crawford, June Vincent, and Peter Lorre. When beautiful singer Mavis Marlowe is found murdered in her apartment, her ex-lover and latest blackmail victim, Kirk Bennett is arrested and tried for her murder. When Bennett is found guilty and is sentenced to death, his long-suffering wife, Katherine, starts looking for answers of her own. Katherine seeks out Martin Blair (Dan Duryea), the husband of the victim, and together they try to solve the crime. Crime Club title.
