About This Item
As with all of More's works, it is heavy on the religion and moral teaching, in this work emphasizing the consequences of vice than the rewards of virtue. Pleasant woodcut vignette title page.
12mo. [1]-23pp., [1, advertisement]. ESTC N15155. Bradshaw 1771 (though our copy has 34 books on the advertisement rather than 47 as noted in Bradshaw, suggesting our copy is earlier as Watson's advertisements got increasingly more crowded as the year progressed. Bradshaw makes no note of a 34 book advertisement, jumping from 31 to 44). Scarce with Worldcat recording 4 copies of the edition printed by William Watson and Son.
