New York: Random House [1947], 1947. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good+/Good+. 8vo. [6], vii-viii, 3-330 pp. Green cloth with a black decoration on the front board, red lettering on the spine; purple topstain. Price of $2.00 on the front flap of the dust jacket. Illustrated with a few drawings by Milton Menasco. Difficult to find in the first edition, this is the third book in the beloved Black Stallion series. A small smudge on the fore-edge, a faint trace of an old inscription on the free front endpaper; jacket has edge wear including a split to its rear fold and some foxing.
