The second novel in Falkirk's historical mystery series featuring Edmund Blackstone, a Bow Street Runner in London in the 1820s, this time given the assignment of stamping out the outlawed sport of prizefighting, a mission that leads him towards men willing to commit murder to stop him; the inside back cover has a short, crossed-out message, o/w the boards and text show some very minor shelf wear, and are clean, tight, square; the dustjacket shows wear at the edges, corners and spine ends, including several small, closed tears and a quarter-inch chip missing from the top edge of the front panel, o/w the dj is 99% whole with very little damage to artwork or design.
