Glasgow: James Brown & Son, 1924. Second edition. Hardcover. Very Good. Hardcover in deep olive green cloth lettered in gilt. 332 pp. with index. Illustrated with full page photographs and reproductions. All gilt lettering bright and with almost impercepible fade to the spine strip. Tight, with scattered foxing (more so to the prelims, title and last page of index and rear blank. The "Blackwall Frigates" (the colloquial name) for for three-masted, full rigged ships built between the late 1830s and 1870s. They took the place of the earlier English East Indiaman vessels used for trade between Great Britian, India, China, and the Cape of Good Hope and by the 1850s were also used between Great Btitian and Australia and New Zealand.
