About This Item

New York: Coward-McCann, Inc, 1929. First Edition. Hardcover with Dust Jacket. N. C. Wyeth (dust jacket and endpaper illustration). 8vo. Pp. 369, [4]. Bound in blue cloth with vignette and lettering stamped on front board in green and black, black lettering on spine. Decorated endpapers illustrated by N. C. Wyeth, as is the dust jacket. Dust jacket with slight fading to spine, else Fine. The dust jacket is a particularly attractive example, both in condition and in Wyeth's wrap-around design. The scene depicts a storm brewing offshore, heading to stately waterfront house, evoking the tension in this mystery novel. Dust jacket now enclosed in a removable, clear archival sleeve.
