Additionally inscribed (to collector, John Carroll Collins), dated and SIGNED again by William Everson, this time on the half title page. Initially, we were perplexed by a series of brownish discolorations on the facing panels, pastedowns, and endpapers. This was cleared up by Ted Dunn, a serious collector who owns multiple copies of this title, who stated that this is a rather common occurrence with the title because of the use of the excessive glue in the binding process by this publisher. Hundreds of black and white halftone plates, depicting the various paintings. On the opposite leaves, printed in red ink, are the painting titles and artists. A front blank contains a tipped-in photograph of Schemm, surrounded by his bounty of paintings. A crisp, clean copy in the publisher's red cloth, stamped in gilt. Very minor dust-soiling to the cloth, and an owner's name on the front free endpaper, else a rather crisp, sharp example; near fine. A very nice production.
