Blister Jones (1913)Good teal blue ribbed cloth, bright gilt stamped lettering in compartment front cover; blindstamped horseshoe on front with horseshoe on bet pages on spine. 1913, no further printings, likely first edition. Brief edgewear. Hinges good, starting slowly at endpapers. A few scuffs and light soiling. Front paste-down signed by SOLOMON; no other reader's marks. Frontis illustrated by Jay HAMBRIDGE. Author's first book and a seminal sporting voice. Bobbs-Merrill , 1913, likely first printing: as Quill and Brush notes: "Prior to the 1920s, sometimes used a bow-and-arrow design on the copyright page of their first editions; after 1920, generally stated "First edition" or "First printing" (but not consistent in either practice)."
