New York, New York: Viking Press, 1972. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Good/Near Fine. The beloved author of the Brother Cadfael mysteries here writing under her own name in an early historical novel based on the 3 English Henrys--Henry Iv, his one Hal, & Hal's mentor, Henry Percey--& their ultimate clash at Shrewsbury on the Welsh border in July 1402--the titular "Bloody Field." A First Edition, first printing from 1972, this hardcover book has a quarter red cloth bound spine with lighter red paper over boards, gilt lettering. Condition is downgraded to only Good due to fairly heavy rubbing & fraying along bottom edge. Otherwise, completely clean, pages creamy white with just a whisper of tanning. Binding is tight & square;NO writing/underlining/highlighting; not ex-lib. The unclipped DJ is Near Fine, having been protected in mylar since purchased brand new, but downgraded due to a slight tear/abrasion at heel of spine.
