Large, thick royal 8vo in navy blue cloth lettered in gilt. xv+ 340 pp. errata slip tipped in at rear. Photographic plates that include 502 examples, plus drrawings and reproductions in the text. Monumental, beautifully produced survey of colonial through early Federal periods. Philadelphia furniture. Extensive sections on Philadelphia Chippendale styles--case pieces, tables, sofas, beds; also, Queen Anne cabriolet chairs, Federal fashions and fabricators. looking glasses, picture farmes, brackets, Windsor and rush-bottom chairs and a roster of Philadephia craftsmen in 1783 and 1786. Fine, in the original plain blue slipcase, small split at one joint.
