Boston - Toronto: Little Brown & Company, 1955. Light blue hardcover binding clean, tight and secure. Spine slighltly cocked. DJ has some chips, tears and wrinkles - lght soiling. Now protected from further damage in clean Brodart jacket. Dedication page thanks Captain V.S. Littauer for his help in the book along with Col. John Wofford of the 1952 USET. Interior clean and bright with no marks tears or writing. 225 pages with an extensive glossary of horse show terms. 16-yr old Pam lives with her Grandfather on his horse farm. In this sequel to Pamela and the Blue Mare, Pam and her friends train to qualify for the Olympic Trials at Fort Riley Kansas. Even though at this time woman were not able to compete alongside the men, Pam still tries out on her mare, Frosty Morning, with hopes that the rules will change. Conflict with a snobbish young horsewoman named Mary Atwater who competes with Pam both at horse shows and for the heart of the young horseman, Bill. Lots of great Brown illustrations, including a two-page spread showing the course the riders jump during one of the competitions. A Sealyham Terrier named Toby also plays a small role in the story..
