Lexington, KY: Transylvania Press, 1932. Hardcover. Good + overall. Signed presentation copy of this study of ante bellum houses and families in Kentucky. Inscription reads, "To Garland H. B. Davis with the cordial good wishes of a fellow Kentuckian, Elizabeth M. Simpson, Lexington Kentucky, December the twenty fifth, Nineteen hundred and thirty three". An additional inscription at the front paste down: "Merry Christmas & Happy New Year, to Garland from Father & Mother, Dec 25th, 1933."

Account of Kentucky homes, with introduction by William H. Townsend. Two cards loosely inserted in the front. Royal 8vo, 408pp, frontispiece, illustrations throughout. 3 items loosely inserted: hand colored Christmas greeting card, a card signed Frances Todd, and a Southwestern Bulletin, on Francis Walker Gilmer, by John H. Davis. Original green cloth, paper title pieces on front cover & spine. Spine darkened, spine ends rubbed.
