About This Item
London: Humphrey Milford Oxford University press, 1925. Pictorial Boards. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. The spine strip missing, is leaving the spine exposed, not a pretty sight, the hinges are cracked. and the boards' edges are chipped; there's neat ink inscription on front paste down: "For dear Sheila, a prize for trying" , with an unsuccesful attempt made to rub out "for dear Sheila". The spine is cracked on page 48 and again at page 64; and finally there's a small stain on the outer edge of page 71, which could be chocolate and does not effect the print. A good only copy with many faults but treated with respect should easily last another 90 years.
