1950. POLITI, Leo. A BOAT FOR PEPPE. New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1950. First edition, beautifully inscribed by the author in Italian with color embellishments on front flyleaf. Unpaginated [32] pp. 4to., blue-green cloth stamped in dark green. In a color illustrated dust jacket. Near fine, some rubbing to bottom of boards, fine internally. Jacket good with some scrapes and a few tiny holes to front and rear panels. The story of Peppe, a Sicilian-American boy living in Monterey in the fishing community. Lovely illustrations; one song with muscial arrangement.
