(Arlington, Virginia), 6 1/4 x 9 1/4 inches tall spiral bound (white plastic comb) with pink printed covers, [22], 268, [24] pp. Moderate rubbing and edgewear to covers, with a bit of staining to the rear cover. An otherwise very good copy - clean and unmarked, apart from an erased pencil notation on the title page. ~GG~ A 1965 Washington, DC socialites' fundraising benefit recipe book, with contributions from prominent hostesses all over Washington, including wives of foreign diplomats, senators and representatives, leading off with recipes from Lady Bird Johnson and Hubert Humphrey's wife. It also includes contributions from chefs and male hosts. Contributors are listed in a series of prefatory indices, with an index to the recipes by category in the rear, along with '65 clippings from the society sections of the Washington Post and other papers highlighting the fund-raiser. Scarce; OCLC (No. 44536148) locates only one copy, at the University of Texas Library in Austin. ~GG~
