About This Item

Hardcover book Tenth Printing 1973 published by Oxford University Press. Illustrations. 676pp including Index. Ex-library copy with apparent names inked through on the top and fore-edges, "Discard" written in black ink on the front free end-paper, name inked through on the title page and well as a number, and residue from tape (which secured the jacket flaps to the boards) and glue residue on the end-papers; otherwise, a tightly bound large book that is clean and without further markings. So, rate the book in Good condition - even with the library flaws - and the dust jacket Good as well. "The inquiring reader who wants a general history of that modern miracle, the printing press, can do no better than take up Mr. McMurtrie's THE BOOK." --- Yale Review.
