New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1974. Oversized Hardback . Good - Cash. First American Edition. Olive green cloth cover with gold gilt Celtic knot on front cover. Some rubbing to gilt on title and publisher on spine. Small tear in edge of spine above the 'F.' Small part of the cover has been torn away in same area revealing board beneath. Sun fading to the spine. Small tear on bottom edge of spine. Date stamp upper corner of ffep. Sprayed fore edge with slight discoloration. Tight binding. Crisp clean pages. Slipcover is olive green cloth with The Book of Kells in gold gilt on one side, and large color plate on other. Areas of rubbing on the gilt. Cloth is peeling on upper and lower edges of slipcover, with upper edge being more severe. Cloth missing in a few small areas along the spine which exposes the boards underneath. Some soiling/staining on slipcase. Stock photos may not look exactly like the book.
