London: Methuen Children's Books. Very Good in Very Good- dust jacket. 1974. First Edition. Hardcover. 127 p. 24 cm. Sound and square binding in red, cloth-covered boards. Corners lightly bumped. Inside pages are generally bright with a couple of tiny soil marks in the margins. Dustwrapper has wear along edges and corners, more so to the top edge and head of spine. Rub wear with scratches. Not price clipped. A selection of folk tales featuring animals, retold by Ruth Manning-Sanders. Illustrated with a colour frontispiece and pen and ink artwork. .

It is one in a long series of such anthologies by Manning-Sanders. This book was first published in the United Kingdom in 1974, by Methuen & Co. Ltd. Some of tales from this book are recollected in Folk and Fairy Tales (1978) by Manning-Sanders.
