London, The Trades Union Congress General Council, 1934 1st edition.. Hardback, 11 x 9 ins. In green cloth covers with gilt lettering to spine and gilt decoration to front. In dustwrapper. In very good condition with good dustwrapper. (DW chip and some small tears to top edge on front and rear, some minor rubbing and darkening to edges. In protective sleeve.) Some darkening to gilt around edges on front and on spine lettering. Endpapers clean, no inscriptions. Inside pages all clean and tight. A couple of loose newspaper cuttings in front. Else a very good clean and tight copy. 239pp. With colour frontis and b/w photographs and illustrations with several colour plates. Produced to commemorate the arrest and trial of the Tolpuddle Martyrs in 1834. Contributors include; Sidney and Beatrice Webb; Sir Stafford Cripps; Cartoons by Low and Will Dyson.
