The Syracuse University Bookstore. hardcover. Weston, Harry E. : A Book on "Paper". Syracuse (NY) : The Syracuse University Bookstore, 1927. First edition/First impression. Small octavo (8vo), 8"/20.1cm h x 5.5". Quarterbound in publisher's light green paper boards and dark green cloth spine, gilt lettering and ornamental bands to latter. Plain white endpapers. Xiv pp prelim material, 77 numbered pp, plus three blank; additionally 21 coated leaves w b&w photos inserted throughout. Author's preface, acknowl, list of illus, seven chapters. Condition notes: lacks dj, possibly issued without. Binding square, spine ends rolled, corners bumped and frayed. Front free endpaper inscribed generically ("With my best wishes") by author, plus a few pencil notes and a rough patch where a label was removed; pastedown has a former owner's elegant signature. Pages tanned but generally clean, one small marginal note observed. All illus confirmed in place. Charming primer on paper making, making use of poetry to tell the story in a few places. We personally inspect every book we offer.

About Furrowed Brow Books

Furrowed Brow Books was established in 2020. The bookstore's owner, Paul Purman, grew up in an old farmhouse full of books. Paul had been providing online booksales since 2008 through several popular online sales venues. In 2021 Paul was accepted as a member of the Independent Online Booksellers' Association (IOBA), and graduated from the annual Colorado Antiquarian Book Seminar (CABS-Minnesota).

Furrowed Brow Books' goal is to offer an eclectic selection, while providing specialty offerings in Eastern Orthodoxy and Byzantine civilization, theology, Christian mysticism, science fiction/fantasy (Inklings emphasis), and military history.
