First edition. 8vo., light blue cloth boards, lettered in red to the spine, and with an illustration of three borrowers gathering corn to the tail of the upper board. With the original dust jacket illustrated by Diana Stanley, the same illustrator provides illustrations through-out including  a colour frontispiece replicating the cover; pp [viii] 1-194; A very good copy, the upper and lower boards with light spotting marks and light browning patches to the endpaper maps. The fragile jacket is unclipped displaying the correct price of 10s 6d. net. There are a number of tiny tears along the edges and wear to the spine ends. The second borrowers adventure by Mary Norton. Published off the back of publishing and critical success of the classic first novel. The Borrowers has since been adapted by the BBC as a children's tv series and as a film in 1997 starring John Goodman. The second novel has become quite an uncommon book to find as a first edition.  . Very Good. Hardcover. 1st Edition. 1st Printing. 1955.
